A Work in Progress

So I started a blog, and this is my first post.  At this point, my background is paint cans, and you may be wondering why...I've lived in my house for over 3 years now.  When we moved in, all the walls needed to be painted.  Not necessarily because the colors were bad, but you could tell that the walls had been painted once. 

So they need help. 

I didn't realize decorating a house was such a arduous task.  To date, my living room and stairwell have been painted.  No easy task, since we have sloped ceilings in the living room, and I don't particularly like ladders.  But I was proud of myself for putting together a color scheme and matching curtains, and in a true HGTV-style inspiried moment, moved from floating shelves from my lower level to decorate the big wall in my living room.  "Next task?"  I thought, "Kitchen!"

That was two years ago.

I haven't painted anything since.  But I've thought a lot about it.  That counts, right?  I even think I have my color picked out.  In my defense, in that time, I had another baby.  And started a garden.  So I've been busy.

So welcome to my blog...a home of random thoughts about nothing in particular.  It's called "All Different Directions" because that's how my life goes...all different directions.  One moment a career woman, one moment a chef, one moment a gardner.  All wrapped up in a wife and mother trying to figure it all out and put it all together and not lose my sanity in the process.  Easy, huh?
